I first started my interest in electronics when I was 4 years old. The interest was started by my father trying to get the Christmas lights to work!! I used to buy electronics magazines when I was younger and try to get the projects to work! My favourite magazine was Everyday Electronics. The interest in Amateur Radio was not until about '94. The interest was started by a friend giving my some old Practical Wireless magazines dated around 1965. I built a 2 valve radio and that got the radio interest started!! My main Amateur interests lie with home brew. I am also into ATV
I have owned several computers, my first was a ZX81 and a Spectrum. I even owned a Research Machines 380Z. I had my first PC in 1990, a XT and then built a 286 from parts(some from a skip!) and I have been building my own since!!
I got my first Hi-Fi Separate when I was ten. I
started with a old Sony amplifier and that got the separate bug going!! I
saved up and looked at auctions to build up my gear when I was at school.
When I got a job it was nice to buy some new gear!. My favourite piece of
equipment I have owned was a Pioneer 10.5 Inch Open Reel tape recorder. I
used to enjoy watching the spools whizz round!!
